《咒怨(美版)》简介： 作为一名来日本念书的美国学生，嘉云（莎拉·米歇尔·盖拉 Sarah Michelle Gellar 饰）一直过着半工半读的生活。这一次，她接受了一份看护患了僵直症的老人艾玛（Grace Zabriskie 饰）的工作。艾玛独自居住在一间大宅里，这里的破败和荒芜充分显示了它和老人被时间遗忘的痕迹，而对于艾玛诡异的行为举止，嘉云也仅仅觉得是她的神经出了问题罢了。
